He served as a Clinical Director for Obstetrics and Gynecology at Union and Saint Barnabas Hospitals in New York City.

Dr. Pombar has also completed a year of research in Obstetrical Ultrasound at the University of Colorado in Denver.

He is board certified in both Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Obstetrics and Gynecology.

In 1994, Dr. Pombar completed a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Rush University Center in Chicago.

He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Lutheran Medical Center in New York City in 1991.

Dr. Pombar received his medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1986.

Dr. Xavier Pombar is an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and former Director of the Residency Program in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
